about
This track developed out of grappling with feelings about the pandemic, the suffering surrounding it and this year, with a faint hope of creating some healing, or at least some internal health and fortification. After many weeks/months of production, adding and removing various sound healing ideas, I found myself wondering if it was done. That night I had a dream in which I was doing this meditation(Tonglen/Sending) where I inhale pain (mine and others') and exhale: love, compassion, joy, and equanimity. Only, in the dream I inhaled Covid. And she, (for I had heard the French decided that the virus' name is feminine…) cackled and said, “Ha! Now I’ve got you!”. I replied, “Oh, hey! Is this Covid? I wrote you a song. Check it out.” Then I somehow sang it for her and then she warmly and graciously thanked me for the song and said she would leave me be. So, I figure, it’s finished enough. And it’s helped me navigate all this with some measure of grace and sanity; hope it helps you too :)
100% of Donations for this track will be sent to 'First Nations", a non-profit aiding American Indigenous communities hit hard by the pandemic.
